I mentioned in the Winter newsletter that a couple re-locating back to the North West from New York were very interested in our Goosnargh site. Well they loved it. It exceeded their expectations after viewing the photos on the website and took no time in reserving the property. The sale is progressing and they are due to move in in June when they return from the States with their dog Jake. Jake is used to a penthouse apartment and so will think he’s died and gone to heaven when he arrives at Roebuck Barn!

Yes we’ve done it ! Well at least we hope so. Secure our next development that is! It is a farm in south Lancaster with planning permission to convert the stone barns into 2 detached and 1 pair of semis. I am unable to give you any more details at this stage as we are just in the process of buying it and we still need to dot the i’s etc, etc. We will also have an added challenge with this site as it is ‘listed’. We have not as yet tackled any buildings which are listed so working with English Heritage will be an exciting prospect.

We don’t envisage trying to sell these properties prior to completion as we know that many customers are unable to visualise the end product. We are in essence a design company and as such give the finished homes additional value by the quality of interior schemes and layouts which are controlled by ourselves.

We also fear being constricted in the design methodology by customers if we involve them at an early stage of the build.

That said, on the last development in Goosnargh a customer did buy a property off plan. They also agreed to let us get on with the fit out without their influence and in our own way as their confidence in the end result was justified on viewing our previous work. They were prepared to make an early financial commitment in order to secure the deal and able to pick the best positioned property on the site.
